The LEGS Core Training course (both in-person and online) is designed to build the capacity of livestock experts and humanitarian specialists in livestock-based emergency response planning and implementation. The Core Training provides detailed guidance on the contents of the LEGS Handbook and the steps of the LEGS approach to emergency livestock response planning.
This LEGS Refresher e-module is aimed at those livestock and humanitarian practitioners who have already attended a LEGS Training course and have been applying the LEGS approach in their country or region. It provides a rapid and practical recap for applying the LEGS Handbook and tools in emergency situations. It assumes a working knowledge of disaster management, disaster risk reduction and a livelihoods approach.
This e-module can also offer a useful quick introduction to the LEGS approach for newcomers, although we recommend attending the full Core Training course for more detailed information.
The LEGS Refresher e-Module uses a self-paced, interactive methodology, so you can complete it in your own time. It takes a total of around one and a half hours to complete. Note that you have to complete each section in order to move forward through the course.
The Module takes around 90 minutes to complete, and is available free of charge on the Humanitarian Standards Partnership online learning platform, hosted by Sphere. Registration is required.
